When we dreamt up House of Jaya, it wasn’t just about designing beautiful clothes. We wanted to create space for identity, heritage, and stories that often go unheard. What we didn’t realize at the time was how deeply this dream would intersect with another cause close to our hearts, the education of young girls in rural India.
Our partnership with Milaan Foundation Girl Icon Program grew out of something very personal. That is why every purchase from House of Jaya contributes to the Milaan Foundation’s Girl Icon Program. Every girl empowered through the Girl Icon Program in rural India creates a ripple effect of change, driving progress toward a future of education, health, and safety for herself and her community. With each garment, you become part of a movement that helps fund classrooms, amplify young voices, and create brighter futures.
“House of Jaya was born out of my classroom, where conversations often centered on dual identity. At its heart, it’s about opening doors where none exist. A portion of every purchase supports girls’ education through the Milaan Foundation. Together, we’re funding classrooms and creating brighter futures.”
— Julie
“Growing up in India, I witnessed firsthand how young girls were denied access to basic opportunities. At House of Jaya, we believe that through this partnership and timely support, we can be part of the change we want to see.”
— Shveta
Every time you choose a House of Jaya piece, whether to celebrate heritage or simply because it feels good to wear, you’re choosing more than fashion. You’re choosing to stand alongside a girl in rural India who dreams of finishing school, of having choices, of writing her own story.
And that, to us, is the most powerful kind of design — one that doesn’t just drape on the body but ripples outward into the world. Fashion can be soft, it can be bold, it can be a second skin. But at House of Jaya, it is also a promise that what we create will always carry forward the possibility of change.
